Nature Corner: Egret BabiesThe egret is a tall slender water bird. It catches fish by standing in low water, waiting patiently for fish to pass, then it pierces the fish with its sharp beak. Like other birds, it brings food back for its babies to eat. The egret builds its nest up high in the trees that are on small islands, so other animals cannot get to them. The little babies wait eagerly for their next meal. One sad observation scientists have made about egret babies is that no matter how much food is available, the babies are still prone to fight each other. Do you fight with your brother or sister? It makes God sad because he wants you as brothers and sisters to help each other, not hurt each other. The Bible says in Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God in Christ has forgiven you." Don't be like the baby egrets and keep fighting. Remember, that Jesus wants us to be nice and loving to each other. Memory Mastery: God's Special BookWe have been learning interesting facts about God's special book, the Bible. Mission Helper: A Walk in the ParkDorota is originally from Poland, but she lives in Ireland now. One day, Dorota walked in the park with her daughter. She heard a woman talking in Polish and the woman heard Dorota talking in Polish to her daughter. The three women stopped and said hello. The kind woman invited Dorota to study the Bible and go to church on Sabbath. She introduced her to the Hope Channel on TV. Dorota had always loved God, but now she was finally learning more about the Bible and Jesus. She decided to be baptized and follow Jesus forever. Bible Story: King David is KindReference: 2 Samuel 9 David missed Jonathan his friend and asked Saul's servant Ziba if there was anyone left of the family of Saul to which David could show kindness. Ziba found Mephibosheth, Jonathan's son, who was lame. David brought Mephibosheth to his home to live and took care of him.
Our prayer verse is Ephesians 4:32, which says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving on another." David showed kindness to Saul's family, even though Saul was very mean to him. Do you show kindness to others when they are mean to you? Dear Father God, Give me a heart of kindness for everyone, even for those who are mean to me. In Jesus' Name, Amen

Nature Walk: StorehouseThere are different animals that store food to eat later on. Some you might see in your backyard include the squirrels, moles, mice, and chipmunks! Chipmunks are my favorite. God gave them elastic cheeks that stretch into big pockets to hold food that they haul from one place all the way to their burrow. During winter they have built up a huge storehouse of the best nuts and seeds to eat whenever they are hungry. Do you prepare for the future? Chipmunks and other hoarding animals remind me of a Bible verse in 1 Chronicles 29:2, in which King David says, "Now for the house of my God I have prepared with all my might gold, ...silver, ...bronze, ...iron, ...wood, ...onyx, ...all kinds of precious stones, ...and marble." David did not get to build God's house, but during his time as king, he set aside all kinds of precious things for the time when his son Solomon would build God's house. Do you give God your very best? Memory Mastery: God's Special BookWe are almost done working on God's special book, where we learn important facts about the Bible. Can you please review this with your child at home and make sure they can answer the following questions? We will present this information to the church along with the song, Standing on the Promises.
Mission Helper: Blind HopeMarian is from Poland, and he was born blind. His grandmother read him the Bible, so he learned the 10 Commandments and many Bible stories. When he went to school, he learned to read using Braille, a raised dot system for the blind. In religion class, he asked his teacher why they didn't teach all the 10 commandments. His teacher told him that the Catholic Church had the power to change God's law. Marian decided that he would only follow the Bible. Now, Marian is a Sabbath School teacher. He likes to teach others the Bible and encourages them to follow Jesus all the way. Bible Story: King David Wants to Build a House for GodReferences: 2 Samuel 7 After Saul died, David became the king of Israel. He remembered how good God was to him to protect him all those years that King Saul tried to hurt him. David decided he wanted to build a temple for God, but prophet Nathan told David that God would let David's son Solomon build the temple. God gave David the plans for the temple and helped David set aside money and special things for it. God also gave David a very special promise. He told David that the throne of his family would last forever. In other words, He told David that Jesus would come from his family line. Our prayer verse is 1 Chronicles 29:3, in which David says, "I have set my affection on the house of my God." David loved God so much that he dedicated his most precious things to God's house. We can show God love, too, by taking care of His house. Dear Father God, I love You, and I want to show You love and respect by being careful with Your house. In Jesus' Name, Amen
